I’ve always loved that David is called a man after God’s heart. I take that to have two meanings:
1) David possesses the characteristics of Christ. He is made in the image of God, he is made after God’s heart.
2)David is chasing after God’s heart. David is running toward God – God’s will, God’s purpose, God’s character.
I want to possess both of these ideas. I want to be made in the image of Christ and I want to be chasing after the heart of God. I personally believe you can’t have one without the other.
If you possess the characteristics of Christ you cannot help chasing after God’s heart, will, and purpose because the character of Christ is to do God’s will. If you chase after God’s heart and purpose you will develop the characteristics of Christ because the will of God is for us to be Christ – like.
I want all that God wants. I want to be made in His image. I want to chase His heart, will, and purpose. I want to love God so deeply and chase Him so fervently that He could say, “She will do all my will and carry out my program fully.”
I want to live so that through those who I lead to Christ, my spiritual descendants, God would bring forth the Savior. ♡

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, Forever; I choose Jesus.
