On the Fourth of July we celebrate the Declaration of Independence, the freedom that we have as Americans to be who we are and do what we want to do.
How crazy would it be if, all at once, someone decided these things are no longer important, we are going backwards to the days of slavery and oppression? All of a sudden the Declaration of Independence became irrelevant? What if every amendment in the Constitution, every war won for freedom, every law passed for women and African and Native Americans no longer applied?
Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? Once we have experienced freedom why on earth would we want to go back? Sadly, many Christians do this every single day.
Christ has liberated us to be free, and yet we so often choose to be bound. In His death, Christ conquered every struggle that we now face. He took victory over all. We are made more than conquerers through Christ. When we submit to Christ, He breaks every chain of addiction, depression, oppression, religion, and any other binding entity in our lives. And yet, after the chains are broken, we do not let them go, or we allow them to be put back on down the road.
Christ has liberated us to be free. He makes us free every single day. Every time we ask, He breaks another chain.
Today, choose to remain in the freedom that Jesus gives. Stand firm, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
He who the Son has set free is Free Indeed!
Give complete reign to Christ today. Walk in His freedom. Celebrate your own Independence. ♡
Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, Forever; I choose Jesus.
