More than just a Dream

image

God spoke to me in a dream last night.
He told me a scripture to read and it changed my life forever.

When I woke up this morning I was all ready to get up and read this Scripture. Ready to have a life (and likely WORLD) changing moment.

As I laid in bed for a couple of minutes before getting up to start my day, I continued to think about this scripture, wondering what could be so special about it.

As my sleepy fog started to clear I realized what was so special about this scripture: it doesn’t exist. There is no 2 Peter chapter 13.

That’s right. In my dream, “God told me” to read 2 Peter 13, a nonexistent scripture.

I started laughing when I realized this. I was all prepared for January 5th, 2016 to be the first day of the rest of my life. Turns out, it was just a dream.

Life is like that sometimes. Sometimes we have these big plans with even bigger expectations, and then those expectations aren’t met and we decide “it was just a dream.”

But here’s the thing: We have the power to make our dreams become reality. Obviously I can’t make a chapter 13 suddenly appear in the 2nd book of Peter, but I can choose to have an amazing encounter with God today. I can choose to find something new and amazing in a typically familiar scripture. I can choose to make my dream become reality.

Experiencing God doesn’t have to be a dream. Developing a deeper relationship with God doesn’t have to be something that we only imagine and hope for some day.

This is the one dream that we can control, that we can cause to happen. We can go to God and meet with Him any time we want, He is there waiting to shower us with His love. God is happy to give us more than just a dream. β™‘
