Following God Takes more than the Click of a Button

In this age of technology, we can be connected to anyone.

Through the capabilities of the Internet and cell phones we can reach anyone, any time, in many different ways.
We can reach someone on the other side of the world or follow the life of someone we have never met with the quick click of a button.

Because of this, it can sometimes make God seem so far away.
We have access to His Word more easily and in more forms than ever, but to actually access God Himself, there is no fast-track, click of a button.
It still remains personal. It still takes time and effort. It still takes desire and need.

God doesn’t follow the ways of our world — God asks us to follow the ways His Word.

He asks us to spend time getting to know Him, falling in Love with Him, and realizing that He is worth the effort.
He asks us to trust His timing over the fast paced time that we want.
He asks us to know Him well enough to understand that He doesn’t make us wait as punishment, He gives us the gift of waiting as preparation.

When we take the time to get to know God, to study His Words that lead us directly into His heart, we gain that direct access that we want through the power of the Holy Spirit.

John 16:13: “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”

The Spirit becomes our direct, personal, line to God.
The Spirit living within us, resting on us, dwelling around us, hears the Words whispered directly from the mouth of God and then whispers them directly into our hearts.
Through the power of the Spirit, we can communicate with the God of Heaven just like He is sitting next to us.

It doesn’t happen at the click of a button, but anything worth having is worth working for.
And there is nothing, NO ONE, more worthy of our time than God. β™‘
