Today has been a day of dreaming, of planning, and (as I’m learning from this book) the most important combination of the two… Developing a Vision.
Prov. 29:18, “Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish;”
Without a vision there is no destination, there is no goal, there is no purpose.
We need a vision to press us forward.
My vision is of knowing and loving God more than ever. My vision is of having time to spend with my fiance, Tyler, both now and after we’re married. My vision is of having more time to write, not because I think I’m extremely talented, but because I know God has given me a passion for sharing about His love through words.
My vision is to have more time to be with God while developing my writing, so that, after God has poured into me, I have something to pour out and onto you.
My vision is simply to have time to focus on the things that are really important.
I know from experience that time is short and you never know when an opportunity will have come and gone and you will regret it for the rest of your life.
You never know when a goodbye will be the last.
That’s why I’ve started this journey with It Works! Global. That’s why I’m working harder than ever at my current job. That’s why I’m constantly having discussions about the future with Tyler and spending almost every free moment planning and working toward the next goal. Because I know it will be worth it to have the freedom to focus on what truly matters.
@andy_stanley says your vision allows you to experience emotion as if your vision is reality.
I absolutely agree.
In the midst of all my dreaming I have felt the freedom, I have felt the peace and joy that only God provides.
And that drives me to make it a true reality.
That is what drives me to run to God more than ever and allow Him to direct me into the middle of His purpose and plan for me.
Because I have felt it, and I know that it is worth striving for.
Find your vision. Whatever route you may want to take, make sure the destination is the heart of God.
And then you run after that finish line with every ounce of strength you have. ♡
