Who I Am

HEY FRIEND, I’M BETHANY AND I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE HERE.

I am a wife to my wonderful Husband, Tyler, who also doubles as my best friend {Cliché, I know. But it’s really true}. Marriage is a wonderful, unpredictable learning experience and we are having so much fun along the way.
I am a born and raised Kentucky girl who loves any kind of travel and adventure.
I am unashamedly addicted to books and coffee. And I love community, authenticity, and any reason to laugh.

I have known of Jesus my entire life, but He and I have had a personal relationship for about eight years now, beginning when my life was turned upside down. There is so much I have yet to learn about Him, and I will never learn everything. But, for now, it is enough for me to know that He is good, He is faithful, He is love, He is trustworthy, and He is always fighting for me.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MADNESS OF THIS CRAZY THING WE CALL LIFE, MAKING TIME TO SIT AT THE FEET OF JESUS IS ALWAYS WORTH IT.

He is always ready. Always waiting. Always intentional. And always just as happy to spend time with us as we are with Him.

I have always loved to read and write. As a child I always kept journals and felt that I could best express my thoughts and emotions through writing. And I still feel that way today.

I originally started blogging in 2014 to share my thoughts and personal experiences that were too lengthy to be a Facebook status. That small step has now turned into one of my absolute favorite things that I have ever done.
I of course write here and I also contribute to the blog and magazine at She Leads Daily. And I love guest writing and contribution opportunities!

My goal is always to connect with you in a personal way, which leads to me often getting extremely raw and vulnerable. I have heard that vulnerability leads to vulnerability and I wholeheartedly agree. I firmly believe from experience that

AUTHENTICITY IS THE BRIDGE TO CONNECTION AND HEALING.

How can we expect to find true relationship and healing if we only ever present a fake, seemingly perfect version of ourselves? True healing and connection are only found in the authentic and vulnerable places of our hearts.

“…MAN DOES NOT SEE WHAT THE LORD SEES, FOR MAN SEES WHAT IS VISIBLE, BUT THE LORD SEES THE HEART.” -1 SAM. 16:7

Thanks again for being here. Once you’ve been here once, you’re stuck with me as a friend forever. 😉
